J Pillow – Travel Pillow review
Not a cheap or compact travel pillow but a superb design which solves many travel sleep problems.
No, it’s not a stuffed elephant – it is actually a ‘revolutionary travel pillow’. Odd though the design and shape is, the J Pillow was actually awarded British invention of the year in 2013, so we thought it was worth a try and we’re glad we did.
The first thing I noticed was that it is incredibly soft. It’s well stuffed with a polyester filling, ensuring it’s plump and fits well around your neck and chin. I found there was limited to no slack in it which made it supportive.
What sets this apart from your run of the mill travel pillow is the chin support. It’s a welcome feature as often when I’m travelling I manage to wake myself up by nodding forwards or with my head going backwards and snoring (we’ve all been there). The J pillow comes with a handy velcro clip that you can use to attach the pillow to your hand luggage or possibly a seat belt if you are travelling in the car.
If you would prefer to pack the pillow up in a bag, it folds to the size of a small football. It’s plump so very quickly bounces back to its original shape. To keep it folded for more than a few seconds you may want to invest in a strap to wrap around it.
If you’re travelling on a budget and you’re massively short of hand-luggage space, it might not be the best travel pillow choice. At £19.95, it’s expensive. But if you travel a lot, long-haul flights or for business and need to sleep, I would highly recommend it. Overall, this is a great travel pillow – no more leaning, snoring or drooling on your neighbouring passenger’s shoulder!
